From March 1972, this Seiko 5 Sports (Ref. 7019-7050) pairs a vivid blue dial with Seiko’s hallmark day-date practicality. The layout, featuring an outer minute track, bold “SPORTS” and “WATER 70m PROOF” markings, and a bilingual day window, captures the energetic spirit of early-1970s Japanese sports design.
At the heart is Seiko Caliber 7019, an automatic movement with 21 jewels. Day-date functionality is delivered in true Seiko fashion: quick-set date by pulling the crown, day advancement by pushing it, and time-setting through the second position.
Encased in stainless steel with a rounded cushion profile, the watch presents strong vintage presence at approximately 39 mm (excluding the crown). The acrylic crystal shows signs of age, including a chip near 3–4 o’clock, while the dial displays natural ageing consistent with its character.
