Catalogue note
The Actus line was developed by Seiko for active, modern lifestyles. Positioned below Grand Seiko and King Seiko, it offered robust automatic movements with contemporary styling, making it one of Seiko’s most successful domestic lines. This watch, manufactured in June 1976 (Serial No. 608382), belongs to that exact moment — where practicality, durability, and design came together in a uniquely Japanese way.
What truly sets this piece apart is its remarkable dial. The finely textured surface resembles a houndstooth pattern, shifting between warm brown and bronze tones depending on the light. This kind of dial is far less common than standard sunburst finishes and gives the watch a strong vintage character.
At the heart of this watch is the Caliber 6306 automatic movement, produced by Suwa Seikosha. It features hacking (second-setting) and bilingual day-date display (Japanese/English), both adjustable via the crown — a practical and well-engineered system typical of Seiko’s design philosophy.
The watch measures approximately 36mm, a classic and highly wearable size. It is fitted with its original Seiko Actus stainless steel bracelet, which enhances its authenticity and collector appeal. The bracelet currently fits approximately 17cm and can be adjusted smaller, but not extended further.
